I want to combined the attibutes and code from to sample iPhone Apps from Apple, with a couple changes.
Part 1: grab data resulting from vibrations (think earthquake) fro the iPhone’s accelorometer, process it, graph it, and store it. This is what’s Apple’s “AccelerometerGraph” does.
Part 2: Take the stored data and run it through a Spectrume filter and display the fequncies. This is what Apple’s “aurioTouch” does.

Right now the existing program takes the output from each of the 3 axis and graphs each data stream on one graph showing the raw data, and a second showing the data after it has been filtered. I want to simplify that and show one combined data stream being graphed on a single graph. We will use the exact same filters in the existing program.
Details of changes:
1) Move all of the option buttons to a separate menu page
2) Implement a “Start” button that will wait 3 sec. then begin recording for 10 sec. then stop
3) We will take the 3 axis information and run through the selected filters, then add them together. It’s this single number that we twill be graphing
4) We will be sampling 100 per sec. or 1000 data points that we will want to save (later I want to add another ways to view the results.)
5) The user should be able to scroll through the results of the last run.

Part 2: Take the stored data and run it through a Spectrum filter and display the frequencies. This is what Apple’s “aurioTouch” does.

This is done by running the results stored above in an array, through an FFT filter. Then plotting the results

The results are plotted on a simple x,y graph.
That’s it. The code is written, it just needs to be updated and integrated.
