This project is for the gradual implementation/merging of a new website (PHP) with an old website (ASP) on a Godaddy Windows Server. The project will likely take 3-4 weeks, however this will not be full-time work…just small tasks spread out (with testing/updating time in between). I am looking for a developer who is a true expert in ASP. You will be migrating the existing website (ASP) into a sub-directory, writing rewrite statements for web.config file, and modifying a copy of the existing ASP site to be a more stripped-down template and allow for incoming data to be passed from existing PHP scripts. You MUST be very comfortable in ASP. I am very familiar with PHP, but AM NOT accustomed to working in ASP, so you will be relied on very heavily. You also must be willing to do a reasonably thorough test of the site after each change to ensure that everything is fully functional…and immediately resolve any issues that might arise (none expected, but who knows). Below is a list of how I expect the implementation to work, but please note that this timeline may not happen EXACTLY as written (client approvals pending at each step), so flexibility is appreciated:

THIS WEEKEND (prefer evening hours for USA: GMT -6):
1. (you) Copy complete existing ASP site into a sub directory called “original”. Map the domain name to this sub directory and ensure all functionality is intact. Then also make a second duplicate copy in sub directory called “asp”…this one will be modified in future steps (to avoid modifying actual “live” site). It is imperative that there be no noticeable downtime, so your attention to detail and quick reaction time in case of a problem is of ultimate importance at this step. We will coordinate times such that I am available at the same time to help as needed.
2. (me) After step #1 is done, I will upload new (PHP) website into original server root. The new directories (“original” and “asp”) will be in this root level. I will set up a subdomain pointed at this root for testing purposes. I will spend a couple days ensuring that everything in the PHP is working fine.
DURING THE FIRST WEEK:
3. (you) Begin removing all unnecessary pages, files, etc from the “asp” directory to leave us only with the online shopping cart/checkout procedures that are currently fully-functional. Replace graphic template with one provided (new header and menu…all CSS, xHTML, etc are provided). Tell me what variables need to be sent to the existing cart page to add products for checkout so that these values can be properly set by me in the new PHP pages.
WAIT APPROX 1-2 WEEKS:
4. (you) During this time, you should work on the web.config file to make sure all pages will be redirected properly. A list of special (relocated) pages will be provided. Otherwise, all paths will remain the same except will have the “.aspx” cut off the end and a slash “/” in its place. Also this week I may find problems with the integration into the existing shopping cart, so you should be available (within approx 12 hours) to respond to questions or fixes.
5.(me) During this week I will be testing out the integration between the new site and the original shopping cart and will fine-tune various components of the PHP.
AFTER ALL PRELIM TESTING COMPLETE (PROBABLY APPROX 3-4 WEEKENDS FROM NOW):
6: (you+me) Point the domain name to the root directory (new PHP site) and test everything to be sure that there is seamless integration between new site and old ASP portions (shopping cart/checkout). Upon successful launch, the project is complete (assuming no ASP errors are discovered within the following few weeks). I will then (after a several week hold…just in case…) delete the “original” directory which will no longer be in use after the transition.
