We are looking for an app coder/developer to work with our web developer to develop and iPhone, Windows and Android application. We believe AIR (Adobe Flash Platform) is the logical way to go to create stand alone apps across these three platforms. Because of the nature of the industry we are working in, updates will be necessary and the MYSQL website database will be the driver of updated versions, thereby eliminating the need to submit to the Apple Store for approval of each upgrade.

Our app is industry specific and is a list of Occupational Health and Safety acronyms and their meanings. It is designed to help workers communicate with each other (particularly where great distances are concerned). It will also be used to quickly warn others of any dangerous conditions and also to alert them of any incidents throughout their working day. The initial list will consist of 1,000 to 1,200 symbols and acronyms and their meanings.

The primary function of the list must be designed to work as a mobile phone application and to assist employees in their text messaging, particularly in emergencies. We want to link the list in with texting software so that through the list installed on the employees’ mobile phones the words in the texted message can predict what abbreviations, acronyms or symbols the texter may be looking for in their texting and will also give them access to an entire list of convenient abbreviations that may be familiar or new to them.

Version 1 of the app will include alphabetised acronyms including pre-emptive text in the English language. We would also like to include in the short term future - condensing text and other languages such as Mandarin and Spanish.

We are now looking for an organisation or individual/s to assist us in coding the initial application in a format (most likely Adobe Air) to be compatible with iPhone, Windows and Android. To do this we will set up the MYSQL database in collaboration with the organisation or individual/s and will work closely with them to reach the desired result.
