We would like to either build a QR / Barcode reader for mobile from the ground up, purchase your existing resell-able code or port and modify zxing's open-source QR / Barcode reader to contain as much stability and/or similar functionality as RedLaser. This would need to be able to port well to iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phone 7 core languages.
Currently, as a developer, we're licensing RedLaser at over $2,500 per use. We have a few clients that want either Barcode or QR scanning capability and we'd rather not continue to pay this fee (or pass it on to them) if we can build it and own it internally for the cost of one license.
Ideally, you will already have a QR / Barcode scanner built in a language that can be ported over (my tech says "C" would be best for cross-platform compatibility) and you would be able to have us demo the product for stability purposes before-hand. Otherwise, we'd be open to a modification of the above-mentioned, open source library to something more robust and/or stable such as that of RedLaser. Or even to discuss having you build something from the ground up.
In the end, we will own the code internally and build apps for our clients that include the code for any range of purposes (including commercially-available products), so you must own the complete rights to any code provided and our team will break it down to verify its legitimacy. Please understand for your pricing, however, that we're not looking for exclusive rights to the reader.
Thanks!
