We have a project written in ActionScript 2.0 CS3. It has a main SWF file that loads basic slides.
The Slides are 155 small SWF files that are either a page of text or a question, with basic animations and interactions with the Flash holder. The interactions are only to show if the question was correct or incorrect, or to allow the user to continue to the next Slide (itÂs then loaded within the main SWF).
The course is complete and working, in English, in ActionScript 2 (Flash CS3). We have a complete set of translations of the text into Urdu, and require that the Flash files are populated with the Urdu text. This means that the text needs to run from right to left and some of the Slide layouts may need to change slightly to accomodate where text is longer than in english, and dynamic and static text needs to have the correct fonts to display the text correctly. Whatever solution can be provided, we would need to know that we would be able to get the text changed relatively easily if there were to be changes / amends at a later stage.
The solutions we have in mind are either:
Somehow get the text to render correctly from right to left in the Flash version weÂre using (there are apparently applications / techniques to help do this in earlier versions of Flash, but each of them have reported issues, and we want to ensure the integrity of the provided translated text).
Upgrade the Flash files to CS5 and update all code to be compatible with AS3 and convert all text display/input fields to RTL format.
