I am looking to have an app developed for Android that will allow the user to select preferences for all apps on their phone. The preferences will be with regard to the information that applications are accessing.
i.e. If an app is accessing the contacts this app (running in the background) will make the user aware that this is happening. The user will have the options to allow or deny this action. If they chose to deny is will send null data.
The app will have settings for each application Allow, Deny, Ask.
In normal mode the app will run in the background and only show an icon in the top menu. When the user slides the top notification menu down the app icon will show that the app is running. Touching the icon will open the app (the main screen will be the settings page for all apps).
Each application has to make the user aware of what it can do. Contact, internet, etc. This app needs to list each of those options for every app on the device and have a setting for Allow, Deny, or Ask Each Time.
The next time an app attempts to do something this app will intercept that request and allow the user to allow or deny that action. If there is a setting in the app to allow another app access then the app will not ask the user to allow or deny.
This is the basic overview of the app.
