<div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; ">I need a linux daemon (primarily Ubuntu 9.10 based, but should work on other distros as well) which will monitor/poll block devices (hard disks, usb drive, etc..).  It should load early in the boot process and detect installed block devices as well as poll for newly inserted devices.
