We are an existing web development company that are seeking the services of outsourcing professionals to help us complete this project.

We have a project for a client that would like a system that allows people within their organisation to communicate and collaborate with each other. Its a social networking site but limited to certain registered members - so a closed forum.

The first page will be a page with a logo and fields to enter new username/password or to register as a user. No other features are visible to the user without first logging in.

Once the user logs in to the system they will have the following features:

1) Display latest news


2) Display a member directory and search the member directory


3) Display all documents and files stored in the document manager and have a powerful search functionality


4) Display a notice board


5) Display an events calendar


6) Display various sections of the site through a menu (eg: HR, admin, accounting, etc)

Managers

Have a manager console where managers can:

1) Manage the calendar,


2) Manage the notice board


3) Manage documents and other files within document manager


4) Manage all pages on the website through an easy to use in-build editor


5) Manage profiles on site

Approve or reject:

i) new registrations,


ii) new calender events,


iii) new notice board postings

Content Editors

Content editors can manage their sections through an easy to use editor and are presented with the same view as normal users except they have a link that takes them to a section to manage their content

Suggestions

An existing open source social networking tool or content management system would be the ideal platform to start with to save on development costs and to avoid starting from scratch.

Please recommend your choice. We like ELGG, WP + Buddypress. Someone with excellent knowledge of these tools could easily customize these features and design a consistent look and feel.

Conclusion

The main page layout will be provided in psd format as well as the welcome screen.The other pages have to created by you and the entire flow of the site needs to be planned out.

All fields and pages must be customizable and not hard coded to allow the users to customize the fields according to their needs. This includes fields in the user directory, the various pages, the fields in the content repository, etc.

We need experienced coders that are effective communicators. We are late on this project so we need fast coders with excellent understanding of these requirements.
