OVERVIEW
We want to launch a website to help people measure a range of stats, and then turn those facts and figures into Daytum.com-style visualisations.


THE TECH
It's one part data capture (forms), one part filters / cross-referencing tools (comparison layer), and one part charting functionality (presentation layer).

It could become rather whizzy, but at its simplest I think it's pretty straightforward.


HOW IT WORKS
The app will provide a clear structure for measuring business performance.

It will have a checklist of metrics which users can choose from to start tracking key facts and figures (they can also create custom metrics specific to their business).

It will also have a range of filters, so users can cross-reference one metrics against another.

And it will then provide users with Daytum.com-style tools for creating simple but visually pleasing charts, infographics and reports. This will be a highly visual presentation layer, e.g. line graphs, bar charts and so on, and perfect for presentations and pitches.

WHAT ARE WE ARE LOOKING FOR?
We're definitely want...

* Good all-round programming and problem-solving abilities
* At least some experience in Ruby & Rails, with a passion for learning more (LRUG a big plus)
* Healthy skills with standard web technologies and web application development
* Competent front end / CSS skills (we're going down the typography as design route)
* Grid devotee
* The usual working knowledge of day-to-day Unix admin (Linux / OS X, Apache, MySQL) and version control (Git)
* An interest in new technologies, techniques and programming languages
