I would like to create an iphone app that uses geolocation to deliver a list of nearby events that are occurring right now.

The app would allow users sort by 'when' (how soon til it starts) or 'where' (which event is closest).

The app would also allow people to post new events.

The app will need a web based database, (the simplest form would be an xml file) that will retire/delete old events.

The app will use 'facebook connect' and/or 'google login' so people can create new events and comment on listed events. As well as rate the event from with a thumbs up/thumbs down.

A user should also be able to tweet and post to facebook a given event, from within the app.

At launch, I would like these features available, but future iterations would also allow:
.map view
.tweet feeds
.the ability to upload images from an event
.'sponsored events' which appear at the top of results despite not being the closest or soonest event.
these events would be payed for from within the app.
